I work as a Personal Assistant (PA) providing home care to a client who has early stage Alzheimers.
As his condition progressed and his needs increased I found it difficult to provide my client with the seven days per week support he now required.
I met the Sunshine Coast Directors at a forum and later contacted them to see if they could take on a share of the increased input my client needed.
Sunshine Coast’s full Care Quality Commission (CQC) accreditation gave me confidence. This means they are trained to provide personal care and medication and are held to the highest CQC standards. As such they have been able to contribute beyond just visiting our client. Sunshine Coast have offered ideas and solutions for the improved care of our client and have seen them through with sensitivity to their position as part of what is now a team of PAs.
They see our client four times a week for two hours. Importantly they are flexible in providing cover for other shifts as required and communicate well to help ensure the client has seamless care.
Our client is now able to continue to live in his home which is important to him. The home care provided by Sunshine Coast is crucial in allowing him to do so.
